Town Hall Meeting and the good news is – it did not rain.
I just walked back from the Miami Herald’s Town Hall meeting over at the Historic Lyric Theatre. The meeting was about the recent housing scandal, affordable housing and corruption in Miami government. It sounded like a three hour shouting match wrapped in the same political puffery that we are used to seeing. All the local polits were there even the elusive Dorothy Mindingall wo I think aides roused out of bed (I am not sure how to spell her last name).
On the way back home from the meeting, I spoke to a homeless man and his wife Alice who live in hte lot across the street from the theatre. He said, “everything was OK and at least it did not rain today.” The Herald’s Tom Fiedler and the Miami commissioners and the polits and all those housing NGO should talk to this wise man.
